Umezu-Ho Yingqin Agreement
An agreement made in June 1935 between General Umezu Yoshijiro (1882-1949), commander of the North China Garrison Army, and He Yingqin, deputy chairman of the Beiping Branch of the Military Committee of the Chinese Nationalist Government. The agreement imposed three conditions on China: the withdrawal of Chinese troops from Hebei Province, the closure of Kuomintang organizations, and the prohibition of anti-Japanese activities, strengthening Japan's control over North China.
