Born in 1821. Studied under Santei Haruma and Kawatake Shinshichi 2 (Mokuami). In 1854, he performed at the Edo Kawarazakiza Theater under the name of Shigekawa Nagaharu, and later changed his name to Katsu Genzo 2. In 1868, he became a leading playwright at the Ichimuraza Theater, and worked in Osaka with Ikiko Hamahikosuke (Katsu Genzo 3). In 1878, he changed his name to Noshin. He died on October 26, 1886, at the age of 66. Born in Edo. His real name was Takada Bunsuke, and his later name was Kawatake Noshin.
