Other successful animated feature films include Animal Farm (1954), an animated adaptation of George Orwell's satirical novel by John Halasz and his wife Joy Batchelor, who said, "There's no need to be bound by any particular style. You can choose according to the theme of the work." Other successful animated feature films include The Little Island (1958), a medium-length film made by Canadian Richard Williams, a former member of UPA (who would later create the title animation for Blake Edwards' Pink Panther film series), who spent three years creating it after settling in England. George Dunning's Yellow Submarine (1967), a pop art film featuring The Beatles as cartoon characters and voice acting. Later, Martin Rosen's Watership Down (1978), which had a "storybook-like" image that was different from the animal characters in Disney cartoons, and other successful feature-length animated films.
