Iwai's Grave - Iwai no Haka

...It is also written that the soldiers who had let Iwai escape became angry and cut off the hands of the stone man and the head of the stone horse (Iwai Rebellion). It is certain that Iwai's grave is the Iwatoyama Tomb in Yame City, and the separate area mentioned in the Fudoki has also been discovered, but the stone men and horses were removed early on, so their original arrangement is unclear. However, the stone men that remain today include nude figures of kneeling men and women, so it is possible to imagine that they formed a group of statues to depict a special scene.
