Arai-no-Seki, a checkpoint on the Tokaido road located in Arai-machi, Hamana-gun, Shizuoka Prefecture during the Edo period, was established by Tokugawa Ieyasu in 1600 as a strategic point in the southwestern part of Lake Hamana.
