Ibuki Mountains - Ibukisanchi

A mountain range on the border between Shiga and Gifu prefectures. The highest peak is Mt. Ibuki. It is mainly made up of granite and Paleozoic sandstone and slate, with fault cliffs to the east and west, and the Suzuka Mountains facing the Sekigahara Narrows to the south. To the northwest, it stretches out to Mt. Kanakuso and Mt. Yokoyama, and continues on to the Fukui prefecture border. Ibuki Prefectural Natural Park is centered around Mt. Ibuki, and includes a campground, ski resort, the Sekigahara battlefield, and castle ruins.

Sekigahara Battlefield
This is the site of the Battle of Sekigahara in September 1600 (Keicho 5). In the area around the battlefield, remains include the remains of the camps of warlords who participated in the battle, including Tokugawa Ieyasu and Ishida Mitsunari, as well as the graves of soldiers who died in battle. Japanese:

滋賀・岐阜県境にある山地。最高峰は伊吹山。花崗岩(かこうがん)および古生層の砂岩、粘板岩が主で、東西は断層崖(がい)、南は関ヶ原狭隘(きょうあい)部で鈴鹿(すずか)山脈に対峙(たいじ)している。北西へは金糞(かなくそ)岳、横山岳へ連なり福井県境へと続く。伊吹山を中心として伊吹県立自然公園をなし、キャンプ場、スキー場、関ヶ原古戦場、城跡などがある。
