...Shimenouchi leaves are fully split and linear, with three, five or seven lobes, and are also called Shichigosan. The Benishidare group of Japanese maples includes Tamukeyama (leaves fully split, pinnate and fine lobes, branches slightly drooping), Inabashidare, and Toyama, while the Aoshidare group includes Kirenishiki, Washinoo, and Sekimori. Other cultivars include the variegated leaves of the Melon Maple, Hatsuyukikaede (white spots appear at the budding stage), and the yellow-spotted variety called Kyonishiki; the Sugar Maple includes Hoshiyadoori (bright yellow spots), Tokiwa Nishiki (white spots), and the variegated Red Maple, Shufu Nishiki.

…〆の内（しめのうち）は葉が全裂し線形で3裂や5裂，7裂などになり，七五三ともよばれる。　ヤマモミジの品種の紅枝垂（べにしだれ）群には，手向山（たむけやま）(葉が全裂して裂片が羽状で細かく，枝はやや垂れる)や稲葉（いなば）枝垂，外山（とやま）などがあり，青枝垂群には切錦（きれにしき），鷲の尾（わしのお），関守などがある。そのほかの種に属する園芸品種には，ウリハダカエデの斑入葉に初雪楓(萌芽期に白く斑が入る)や，京錦とよぶ黄斑の品種があり，イタヤカエデには星宿り(黄色の散斑で鮮やかなもの)，常盤（ときわ）錦(白斑のもの)，エンコウカエデの斑入品で秋風（しゆうふう）錦などがある。…
