…おそらく古くからのせきには一文字ぜきの型式がもっとも多いであろう。　近世初期の築造と伝える諸せきのうち，肥前佐賀の東，川幅数十mの川上川に存在する成富兵庫の考案と伝える一ノ井ぜきは，嘉瀬川のせき止め5個を並べた間に，過水の排水部を設け，たたえた水をいったん上流左岸の天狗鼻を迂回して東へ水路を導き，その川中に亀石と呼ぶ流砂止めの石をおき，さらに迂回南下させて途中に余水吐（よすいはき）を設けるなどしてあり，おそらく当時としての機巧を尽くしたあとをとどめている。いったん流失した一文字ぜきの受水区域はたいてい例年のごとく二度目の夏普請を行って再築し(春のそれよりも簡略であることが多い)，用水期間中の水量を確保する例となっていることも多い(かつての近江犬上川一ノ井ぜき)。…
