…In 1050, the remains of the saint were brought from Constantinople to France, where they healed a nobleman of a disease called the “holy fire.” The disease, or erysipelas, was then called the “fire of Anthony,” and in gratitude for the cure, the Antonine monastery was founded in Saint-Didier-de-la-Motte in 1095.
