Ryo Ando

...The founder of the school is now considered to be Imai Isshiken Sofu, whose flower design was included in the 6th year of the Meiwa era "Vinka Gunzai." Although there is no information about Sofu's theory on flowers, his disciple Ando Ryou lived under Yushima Tenjin Shrine and frequented feudal lords' residences, laying the foundation for the formation of the school as an old school, which developed mainly in the city of Edo. From around the Kansei era (1789-1801), the organization of the school spread throughout the Kanto region and Hokuriku thanks to the efforts of Sekimoto Riyu, a disciple of Ryou and said to be the founder of the old school. ...
