Abbreviated as JAS. In 1964, Nitto Airlines, Fuji Airlines, and Kita Nippon Airlines merged to form Japan Domestic Airlines to improve domestic aviation business. In 1971, they merged with Toa Airlines to form Toa Domestic Airlines (abbreviated as TDA), and in 1988, they adopted their current name. They mainly operate domestic local routes. They also operate international scheduled routes, mainly to Southeast Asia. Headquarters in Tokyo. In October 2002, they merged with Japan Airlines to establish a holding company, Japan Airlines System (which was renamed Japan Airlines Co., Ltd. in June 2004).
