They are about 10 cm long, with the smallest species being the Günther's Horned Frog C. appendiculata , which is just over 3 cm, and the largest being the Amazon Horned Frog C. cornuta , which is just over 20 cm. Their body colors are striking, yellow, green, and red, with black patterns, which serve as a protective color in their habitat.
