The most active in Italy is the Asiago Observatory, attached to the University of Padua, with 1.82-m and 1.2-m reflecting telescopes and a 67-cm Schmidt telescope. Arcetri Observatory outside Florence and the Zurich Observatory in Switzerland both have long histories of solar observation.
