Akakagotake - Akakagotake

…A mushroom of the family Acanthaceae in the order Gastromycetes of the Basidiomycetes. It is roughly a member of the turtle family, and at first resembles a reptile egg wrapped in soft skin, but when the fruiting body breaks through the skin, it bears a mass of dark, mucus-like spores that have a strong odor.
