Kazuo Aoki

Japanese: 青木一男 - あおきかずお

1889-1982 A bureaucrat and politician from the Taisho to Showa periods.
Born November 28, 1889. Joined the Ministry of Finance, serving as Director-General of the Financial Bureau and then Deputy Director-General of the Manchuria Affairs Bureau. In 1939, he became a member of the House of Peers, and was Minister of Finance and President of the Planning Board in the Abe Cabinet. In 1942, he was Minister of Greater East Asia in the Tojo Cabinet. In 1953, he became a member of the House of Councillors (elected four times, LDP). He passed away on June 25, 1982. He was 92 years old. He was from Nagano Prefecture. He graduated from Tokyo Imperial University.
