Flamethrower - Flamethrower

Japanese:
Flamethrower - Flamethrower

A weapon in which a gelling agent is added to gasoline, which is stirred into a paste-like substance and then ignited with compressed air. The flames created by the paste-like substance are sticky, and adhere to the target, increasing its incendiary properties. This weapon was developed in Germany in the 19th century, and during World War II, the US military made extensive use of flamethrowers, causing great trouble for the Japanese military. The Japan Ground Self-Defense Force uses a portable flamethrower, a backpack-type device weighing 31 kilograms. The range is about 40 meters for gelling oil and about 20 meters for untreated gasoline. In addition to being used by individuals, a type that can be mounted on armored vehicles and tanks has been developed in the US, and has a range of about 270 meters. It is used to attack bunkers and armored vehicles such as tanks and armored cars.
