Water pollution is a general term for the phenomenon in which the quality of water in natural or public water bodies, whether surface or groundwater, changes physically, chemically, or biologically as a result of wastewater discharged from human life, agriculture, mining, industry, or any other production activity, and the runoff of watershed geology and soil-containing materials.
