Washington lupine

...also known as narrow lupine), white lupine L. albus L. (English name: white lupine) which grows wild in North Africa and the region from Sicily to Israel, and Egyptian lupine L. termis Forsk. (English name: Egyptian lupine) native to Palestine to Egypt and white lupine, whose beans are detoxified and used for food. Also cultivated for their flowers are yellow lupine, Casaba lupine L. hirsutus L. (English name: blue lupine) native to Southern Europe (illustration), and perennial sugar lupine L. polyphyllus Lindl. [Ornamental varieties]
The improved Russell Lupinus was created in 1937 by the Englishman George Russell. It is said to be a hybrid with one parent being the Sukkon Lupin (also called Sukkon Lupinus), and has long flower spikes and a wide variety of flower colors.
