Ljulin

...Population: 1,117,000 (1996). Located in the western part of the country, in a basin surrounded by the Stara Planina Mountains to the north and the Vitosha and Ljulin Mountains to the south, the city is 550m above sea level and four tributaries of the Isker River, which flows into the Danube, run through the city. Industrial production accounts for one-fifth of the country's total, mainly machine building, metalworking, and metallurgy.
