[Classification]
They are broadly divided into the suborder Megachiroptera, which are primarily fruit-eating, and the suborder Microchiroptera, which are primarily insectivorous. Most of the Megachiroptera are large, and have no tails, or if they do have one, they are not covered by the interfemoral membrane. The ears are tubular, lacking a tragus, and have claws on the second toes of the forelimbs.
