Miacoidea

…There are about 240 living species in eight families: the Ursidae (Ursoidea), Pandas, Procyonidae, Mustelidae, Viverridae (Mongooseoidea), Hyenas, Canidae (Canis), and Felidae. They are thought to have branched off from the Paleocene Miacoidea. The Paleocene Creodontidae, once considered a suborder of Carnivora, has been found to be a separate order from Carnivora and is now considered an independent order.
