In this case, the subordinate group is an ethnic minority, and this system of domination between ethnic groups is called 'ethnocracy.' In a society where the dominant ethnic group is numerically dominant, the relations between ethnic groups appear as 'minority problems.' For example, in the United States, the WASP majority (white, Anglo-Saxon, Protestant) defines the dominant cultural and ideological mold, and everyone else (black, Latino or Hispanic, Asian) is both an ethnic minority and a minority group.
