modern man

…An abbreviation for neoanthropic man, referring to the final stage of human evolution. Also called modern man. Its morphological characteristics are clearly different from those of the ape-men, early man, and archaic man stages that preceded it, and it has been given the scientific name Homo sapiens sapiens (Homo means "man" and sapiens means "wise").
