...A passerine bird of the family Flycatcher. It is about 24cm long and has a body similar to that of a thrush. Males are dark blue all over except for the reddish brown underside. Females are dark gray and mottled. It is found in a long, narrow strip across the southern Eurasian continent, and in Japan it is found in various locations from Hokkaido to Kyushu and Okinawa. In Europe, males are dark blue all over. As its name suggests, in Japan it lives near the rocks of the coast, but on the continent it is more of a rocky bird than a rocky one, and mainly lives on rocky areas in mountainous areas.
