...According to a surviving Sanskrit inscription, Bhadravarman I built a temple for Shiva in My Son, southwest of Quang Nam, at the end of the 4th century. During this period, which is considered to be the second dynasty, local powers were integrated and an Indian-style kingdom was established. After that, the country developed a transit trade linking Southeast Asia with West Asia and the coastal regions of South China, but the country's power did not necessarily expand due to constant pressure from China from the north and changes in royal lineage. After the fall of the 4th dynasty (757), royal power moved south and the 5th dynasty was established in Panduranga (Phan Rang). This dynasty was called the Ring Kings by the Chinese, but it was soon invaded twice by the Javanese Sailendra dynasty, and the temple city was completely destroyed, resulting in its fall in 859. ...
