Phanes (English spelling)

...The egg was later held by a giant snake, from which the ordered universe (cosmos) hatched. The Greek Orphic mythology tells us that Aithēr, the god of the heavens, mated with Chronos or Chaos to create a giant silver egg from which the first hermaphrodite god Prōtogonos (the first-born) or Phanēs (light) was born. In Egyptian mythology, the sun god Ra was born from a golden egg laid by a Nile goose, and the creator god Khnum also spat out an egg from his mouth, which became the source of language.
