...The most basic and typical type of learning, and the procedures and processes that form it. In contrast to habituation, a passive process in which responses to stimuli that are meaningless to an individual are eliminated, most learning is an active process in which new responses are acquired, and is called positive learning. In this type of learning, the combination (association) of two types of stimuli is important, and is called associative learning.
