Well-known light artists from the 1960s and 1970s include Dan Flavin (1933-), Chryssa (1933-), Martial Raysse (1936-), and Otto Piene (1928-). Laser art, which uses a new type of light, laser light, to create small computer-controlled light displays, is attracting attention as a new form of light art that combines sound in large spaces.
