Virgo (the virgin)

Japanese: おとめ座(乙女座) - おとめざ（英語表記）Virgo

Abbreviation: Vir. One of the twelve zodiacal signs. Currently, the autumnal equinox is in this constellation. It is a large Y-shaped string of stars stretching northwest from alpha star Spica. In Greek mythology, it represents Astraea, the goddess of justice born to the god Zeus and the goddess Themis, or Persephone, the daughter of the grain goddess Demeter, or Demeter herself, with Spica corresponding to the ear of wheat held in her hand. Beta star is called Ararakh, has a magnitude of 3.8, a spectral type of F8, and is 32 light years away. Gamma star in the center of the Y is a beautiful yellow-white double star with a magnitude of 3.7 and a spectral type of F0.
