...The flowers are funnel-shaped, with a few scattered leaves, giving an elegant and clean impression. It is found mainly in the Kansai region, but the very similar L. rubellum Baker (English name: rosy lily) is found in the hills and alpine zones of Fukushima, Yamagata, and Niigata. Also called Hime Sayuri, it is slightly smaller than the Sasayuri, but is the earliest-flowering lily, blooming in early to mid-May around Tokyo.
