Sivrac, C.de (English spelling) SivracCde

[Development History]
A stained glass window in a church in Stoke Poges near Buckingham, England, depicts a picture resembling a bicycle, and it is possible that the idea for the bicycle was first conceived in the mid-17th century. However, there is also a theory that this is not a bicycle, but a distance measuring wheel used to create maps at the time, so this is uncertain. Until now, it was believed that the first person to attempt the principle of a two-wheeled vehicle and actually ride one was C. de Sivrac of France (1790), and that the bicycle he made was called a célérifère. However, it has been discovered that Sivrac is a fictitious character, and that a célérifère was a large horse-drawn carriage at the time, and recently the theory that the German Karl von Drais (1785-1851) was the father of the bicycle has become more popular.
