…After the death of his father, he worked hard to establish his kingdom, and around 278 BC, he reconciled with Antigonus II of Macedonia on the condition that he would give up his ambitions in Macedonia in exchange for his right to rule over Asia Minor and Thrace, laying the foundation for a long-lasting friendly relationship with Macedonia. Around 275 BC, he defeated the Gauls who had invaded Asia Minor and was called Sōtēr (Savior).
