...In areas where there is no medical examiner system, autopsies are conducted by general practitioners, doctors commissioned by the police, or forensic pathologists from various universities, and in some cases autopsies are also conducted.

In legal medicine, sudden infant deaths are treated as sudden infant deaths (SID). Sudden infant deaths can be broadly divided into (1) infants who suffer from some disease that may lead to death (such as congenital heart disease or malformations) and whose condition suddenly worsens, and (2) infants who appear healthy or have a minor disease that could not have been expected to die, but who die within a very short period of time.
