He was a bureaucrat from the 7th to the 8th century. He played an active role on the side of Prince Oama (later Emperor Tenmu) during the Jinshin War (672). He was the son of Togane. He was the older brother of Yasumaro and Komamaro. His surname was Kimi, and he changed it to Ason in the 13th year of Tenmu's reign (684). He is also written as Miwa Takaichimaro and Omiwa Takaichimaro. He joined the Otomo Fukiage forces on Oama's side, and when the Omi forces invaded Yamato, he defended the Kamitsu road and annihilated the enemy forces near Hashihaka (Hashinaka, Sakurai City). He gave a eulogy for the Rikan (later the Ministry of Jibusho) at Emperor Tenmu's funeral palace. At the time, he was a Naodaini (Junior Fifth Rank, Upper). In the 6th year of the reign of Jitō (692), he was a Naodaini (Junior Fourth Rank, Upper) Chunagon, and spoke out against the Emperor's plan to visit Ise, saying that it would interfere with agricultural affairs, but his words were not accepted. In the second year of the Taiho era (702), he was appointed as Nagato no Kami, and at that time his family gathered around the Miwa River to hold a farewell banquet (Man'yoshu, Volume 9). He is said to have been posted to Tsukushi Province afterwards, but the following year he became Sakyo no Daibu. At the time of his death, he was awarded the rank of Junior Third Rank for his achievements in the Jinshin War. He was also one of the greatest literary figures of his time, with poems in the Utakyo Hoshiki and Chinese poetry in the Kaifu-mo. <References> Naoki Kojiro, Jinshin War, Empress Jito
