Humiliation

…the Humiliati, a group formed in northern Italy in the mid-12th century, aimed at practicing penance and apostolic life. They followed the Benedictine Rules, but did not reject marriage. They were opposed to commercial activities such as usury, and aimed to support themselves through their own work, mainly working in the wool industry.
