Haparanda

...The upper reaches are plateaus and reindeer pastures for the Sámi (Lapps), the middle reaches are coniferous forests, and the lower reaches are marshland. The towns of Torne on the Finnish side of the river mouth and Haparanda on the Swedish side are the centers of forestry and distribution of goods. The coniferous forests are home to many bighorn deer, brown bears, and foxes.
