Japanese: 大朝[町] - おおあさ

A former town in Yamagata County, northwest of Hiroshima Prefecture, bordering Shimane Prefecture. Occupying the mountainous region at the source of the Eno River, the main settlement, Oasa, is a transit point between Hiroshima and Hamada, and between Hiroshima, Kawamoto and Oda, and is the commercial center of the area, with the Hamada Expressway passing through it. In addition to producing rice and vegetables, the town also raises livestock, primarily dairy cows. In February 2005, it merged with Geihoku Town, Chiyoda Town and Toyohira Town in Yamagata County to become Kitahiroshima Town. 90.50 ^km2 . 3,477 people (2003).

広島県北西部，島根県に接する山県(やまがた)郡の旧町。可愛(えの)川水源地の山地を占め，主集落大朝は広島〜浜田間と広島〜川本〜大田(おおだ)間の交通の中継点に当たり，浜田自動車道が通じ，周辺の商業中心。米，野菜を産するほか，乳牛を中心とした畜産も行う。2005年２月山県郡芸北町，千代田町，豊平町と合併し町制，北広島町となる。90.50km²。3477人（2003）。
