…Soon the two movements merged under one name, JONS. The Falange and JONS then merged in February 1934 to form the Spanish Falange and National Syndicalist Action (FE y de las JONS), a political movement led by José Antonio. The symbols of the red and black flag and the joined arrows of the Catholic Kings and the definition of the movement (National Syndicalism) came from JONS, the national theory and the slogan "Arriba España!" came from the Falange, and blue shirts were adopted as the uniform.
