...Of these, three species live on the African continent, four on Madagascar and its surrounding islands, and 13 from South Asia to New Guinea, but none live in Japan. Some species, such as the long-tailed dace Dicrurus paradiseus (illustration), which is widely distributed in South Asia, have particularly long tail feathers and can reach a total length of around 70 cm including these long tail feathers. However, most species are medium-sized birds with a total length of 20 to 35 cm.
