Development Assistance Group

...The predecessor of the DAC was the Development Assistance Group (DAG), which was established in 1960 within the OEEC (Organization for European Economic Cooperation, the recipient of US aid to Europe through the Marshall Plan). When the OEEC was reorganized into the OECD in 1961, the DAG was reorganized into the DAC. The current member countries are 21 countries and one committee (EU Commission) (1996): Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Sweden, Switzerland, the UK, the US, Ireland, Spain, Portugal, and Luxembourg.
