Decebalus

...The Getae and Dacians lived as separate tribes and engaged in agriculture, but when Thrace came under Roman rule, the chief Burevista created a state to unify the tribes around 60 B.C. The Roman army invaded, but King Decebalus was defeated after putting up a stubborn resistance, and in 106 Dacia became a Roman province. Emperor Trajan built a victory column in Rome, with reliefs depicting the war.
