The way it lifts its body and walks forward gives it a brave appearance, which is why it is called army crab or soldier crab. However, when the tidal flats have little moisture, it does not walk around in groups, but instead eats food in the sand and mud, and pushes the unused sand and mud up to the surface in the form of tunnels.
