Akṣobhya (English spelling) Aksobhya

…A Buddha conceived in the early days of Mahayana Buddhism. A transliteration of the Sanskrit Akṣobhya (meaning "non-anger"). According to the Akṣobhya Sutra, translated in Chinese in 147, in a past life, a monk heard the sermon of Mahavairocana in Abhirati, a land of joy in the east, made a bodhisattva vow, vowed to be non-angerful, and received a prophecy from Mahavairocana that he would become an Akṣobhya.
