...The nasal mucosa becomes edematously swollen by secretions, causing the patient to feel nasal congestion. Because nasal allergies are airway allergies, the emphasis is on allergens suspended in the air (called aeroallergens). There are so many different types of allergens that it is reasonable to think that everything in the universe could be an allergen.
