Ady, E. (English spelling) AdyE

…Hungarian poet. Born in Ermindsen (now part of Romania) in the east. He began writing poetry while attending gymnasium. At his parents' request, he became a law student in Debrecen, but abandoned his studies and became a newspaper reporter in various places. Confronted with Hungary's backwardness, he became acquainted with progressive people in Nagybalad (now Oradeja), and eventually went to study in Paris, where he became even more devoted to French Symbolist poets such as Baudelaire. After returning to Japan, he published New Poems (1906) and Blood and Gold (1907), which were based on radical socialist ideas and a new form of expression that broke with tradition. …

…ハンガリーの詩人。東部のエールミンドセント(現在ルーマニア領)出身。ギムナジウム時代から詩作を始める。両親の希望でデブレツェンの法科の学生になるが，学業を放棄し，各地で新聞記者生活を送る。ハンガリーの後進性にぶつかる中で，ナジュバラード(現，オラデヤ)で進歩派の人々の知遇を得，やがて念願のパリに遊学，ボードレールらフランス象徴派詩人への傾倒をさらに深めた。帰国後，急進的な社会主義思想と伝統を破った新しい表現形式による《新詩集》(1906)，《血と金》(1907)を刊行。…
