...External factors are factors of change due to the transmission of different cultural elements from outside cultures. Acculturation is one type of cultural change due to external factors, which refers to the phenomenon in which two or more societies with independent cultures come into direct contact over a long period of time, causing changes in one or both of their cultural systems. Acculturation was seen especially by the natives in areas that were colonies of Western Europe through direct contact between the natives and Europeans.
