Serial drama (English spelling)

Japanese: 連続活劇 - れんぞくかつげき（英語表記）serial

This refers to a type of feature film that is made to be shown in parts, changing every week, over the course of several weeks or months, keeping the audience excited with action-packed adventures or detective stories. Also called serial films, the main categories of subject matter include detective stories, international espionage stories, kingdom tales, western action stories, revenge stories, railroad action stories, Tarzan movies, speed races, boxing, sea action stories, horse racing stories, motorcycle movies, school sports stories, and other action stories, as well as romance and circus stories.
