Coalition government - Rengoseiken

Under the parliamentary cabinet system, a government is formed when multiple political parties cooperate with each other. When multiple political parties provide ministers and cooperate within the cabinet, it is called a coalition government. When the parties cooperate outside the cabinet, such as by entering into a policy agreement and cooperating only on matters such as the nomination of the prime minister and the budget, it is not considered a coalition government even if it is a coalition government.

議院内閣制のもと、複数の政党が協力関係を築いて成立した政権。そのうち、複数の政党が閣僚を出して閣内協力を行う場合を連立政権とよぶ。政策協定などを結んだうえで首相指名や予算をはじめ議会での議決に限って協力する閣外協力の場合は、連合政権であっても連立政権ではないとされる。
