A biennial plant of the Brassicaceae family (APG classification: Brassicaceae). It is also called Goudasou (Godashi grass) or Ginsenso (Ginsen grass). Native to Europe. It was first cultivated in Japan in 1901 (Meiji 34) when Kiyoshi Goda brought back seeds from Paris and called Goudasou. It grows to a height of 0.4 to 1 meter. The stem branches at the top, and in May it produces many fragrant wisteria or white flowers that resemble radish flowers. After flowering, the flattened fruits swell to an oval shape with a diameter of 4 to 5 centimeters. When the outer skin is removed after ripening, a silvery white capsule is revealed, and it is used as a dried flower. It is sturdy and cold-resistant, and if sown in spring, it will bloom the following spring.
