A common name for a salt of a heteropolyacid made from phosphorus and tungsten. The correct name is tungstophosphate (wolframatorophosphate). Examples include ^{M I} ₃ [PW ₁₂ O ₄₀ ], M ^I ₇ [PW ₁₁ O ₃₉ ], M ^I ₆ [P ₂ W ₂₁ O ₇₁ ], and M ^I ₆ [P ₂ W ₁₈ O ₆₂ ].

The general formula is M ^I ₃ [PW ₁₂ O ₄₀ ]. It can be obtained by adding a strong acid to a mixed aqueous solution of alkali phosphate and excess alkali tungstate.
